My wife, Gwen, and I moved from Dallas to Prosper in May of 2004 with our five young children. All our children are PISD graduates and the two oldest have recently married, gifting us two bonus children. Since moving to Prosper, my family and I have served with many incredible people, leaders, and organizations. Having been appointed to the Prosper Charter Commission in 2010, Planning and Zoning Commission 2017-2018, and elected to Town Council in 2019, re-elected in 2022, serving at the North Central Council of Governments for Prosper on both the Regional Transportation Committee and Emergency Preparedness Committee--I have been a strong and consistent advocate for the citizens and businesses of Prosper.
If you would have told me my first elected position would require me to navigate through a pandemic, state and national covid-economy mandates, and nuances brought to our town because of these challenges, I may have reconsidered. However, I am invariably aware that any decision I am part of has a direct impact on people. The Town and the citizens of Prosper are amazing. We rally, we fight for our own. The people of 75078 are some of the most compassionate people I know!
There are four key areas I have focused on and will continue to do champion for the people of Prosper:
1. Continued Fiscal Responsibility - improving property values, invest for future growth, local business support. I sit on the Finance Committee and our mantra is a diversified tax base while ensuring we are considering the long term stability of our Town, fiscally.
2. Accelerating Infrastructure Projects - champion the acceleration of as many road/water/sewer projects as possible with financial prudence .
3. Championing Excellence of our People - First Responders, Public Works, Executive, Developmental, and Departmental Town Staff
4. Enhance Community Engagement - family-oriented events, focus on parks and partnerships and I sit on the Downtown Committee and Community Engagement Committee to help champion this effort.
Prosper, thank you for trusting me to help shape and prepare our community for the future. This is a role I do not take lightly, or without keen awareness that you, my neighbor, friend, and family, are the reason I serve. I promise to Continue to represent well for those who have come before and to lead in a manner worthy of this position and your respect.
Thank you for you for supporting my re-election campaign and for your vote on May 3, 2025, I look forward to serving you for my final three years!
May God continue to bless Prosper and all who pass through or call her home.
Marcus E. Ray
